About the Program
Offers free courses for low-income adults.
The La Salle Comprehensive Training Center, A.C. was founded on January 25, 1982. It is an educational institution inspired by the charisma of Saint Juan Bautista de La Salle, which seeks to collaborate with the Archdiocese of Tijuana, offering free non-formal education programs, preferably aimed at serving low-income people, 15 years of age or older, who live in the less favored neighborhoods of the city or people who are preparing to emigrate to the United States.
In addition, it is recognized as a Community Plaza, before the National Institute of Education for adults and, as an Advisory Center, before the Open High School Department of the city of Tijuana. More than 218 courses are taught free of charge: 51 on religious training, 30 on family and psychological training and 137 on job training, cultural promotion and health promotion, in addition to participating in the promotion of open Secondary and High School.
The number of students varies between 1600 and 1800 per term. There are 3 periods per year with a duration between 10 and 12 weeks. This is intended to ensure that the student who attends the Center receives a formative and technical education, so that his or her educational growth is comprehensive and complete.
The service provided by the volunteer, according to their own training, is to advise people with cultural courses and seminars, human improvement, religious or apostolic activities.
You can also teach academic courses such as English and Open High School advising. It also accompanies people, individually or in groups, in their human, social, apostolic and religious growth.
The volunteers live in community with the Brothers, sharing the same community project, with moments of prayer, coexistence, culture, rest and apostolic mission. In this way, Brothers and volunteers live in community and together they also participate in the animation of the La Salle Integral Formation Center.
