About the Program
School Mission in the Costa Grande Region of Guerrero
The Lasallian Volunteer in Tecpan de Galeana, Guerrero is:
- A person who joins other volunteers and commits to discovering God’s love in their life, bearing witness to the Gospel, and embracing the mission Jesus entrusted to His Church: to build the Kingdom of Heaven.
- Drawn to the spirituality and charism of our Holy Founder, Saint John Baptist de La Salle, and experiences a sense of belonging to the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools.
- Committed to solidarity, especially with those in need, and generously serves at José María Morelos y Pavón School, adopting its Educational Model and Institutional Project as their own.
- Engages in educational activities at the school based on their profile and professional experience, the needs of the local community and institution, the school’s Institutional Project, and the Volunteer Community Project.
Volunteers from previous years have contributed in areas such as:
- Teaching subjects at different educational levels (Preschool, Primary, and Secondary).
- Promoting and managing specific cultural, artistic, and academic programs (e.g., reading, science, etc.).
- Pastoral activities such as school and parish catechesis.
- Advising groups within the Lasallian Children’s and Youth Movement (Cheurones and Torre).
- Coaching sports teams (soccer, volleyball, basketball, etc.).
- Providing support in administrative tasks and specific departments such as school operations or IT.
- Training teachers and catechists.
As seen above, tasks align with the volunteer’s academic background and professional experience, local and institutional needs, and the school’s overall mission.
