Who is Manitas que Acompañan?

Manitas que Acompañan is a volunteer organization dedicated to provide emotional support to children hospitalized at the Hospital del Niño Manuel Ascencio Villarroel in Cochabamba. Our goal is to make their hospital stay more bearable through recreational, educational and emotional activities.

How was the organization born?

The project started with national and international volunteers, and was interrupted during the pandemic. It was taken up again in 2024 with renewed strength, in coordination with the hospital staff, reaffirming the commitment to humanize the hospital environment for the little ones.

Activities carried out by volunteers

– Didactic, recreational and educational activities adapted to the age and condition of each child.
– Playful interactions that foster communication and trust.
– Practice of empathy and sensitivity to the emotions and needs of patients.
– Games, storytelling, music, emotional accompaniment and comprehensive support in the hospital process.
